Holistic Approach to Facilitate Labor & Postpartum care for Midwives 

Objectives of the course:

  • Understand the 3 main areas of the body that need assessment prior to birth.

  • Understand how to release the lower abdomen fascia to help baby’s position in the belly

  • Learn techniques to improve the uterine mobility prior to birth.  

  • Understand the motions the pelvic bones go through for birth.

  • Learn how to impact the opening of the pelvic bones during birth.

  • Understand the pelvic floor muscles role in birth and how to effectively release them prior.

  • Understand ways to help the abdominal muscles recover after birth

  • Understand what can help close up the pelvic bones after birth

  • Learn ways to help facilitate healing of the perineum and activate stronger pelvic floor muscle contraction after birth.

8:30 - 9:00 LECTURE: What’s Needed for Birth   
9:00- 10:30 LAB:  Abdominal releases  
10:30-10:45 BREAK
10:45-11:00 LECTURE:  Pelvic Mobility for Birth. 
11:00-12:00 LAB:  How to Impact the bones during birth. 
12:00-12:30 LECTURE:  Pelvic Floor Muscles   
12:30-1:30  LUNCH
1:30-2:00   LAB:  Energy flow for birth

  
POSTPARTUM

2:00- 2:15 LECTURE:  Abdominal patterns postpartum.  
2:15- 3:45 LAB:  Closing of the pelvis    
3:45-4:00 BREAK
4:00-4:15  LECTURE:  Pelvic floor muscles and organ impact after birth.  4:15-5:45. LAB: Pelvic Floor muscles and organ release after birth    
5:45-6:00 PUTTING IT ALL TOGETHER

 

9 hrs total. With 1 hr lunch

Lynn combines the knowledge from Physical Therapy school with the healing energy techniques of Craniosacral Therapy, Visceral Manipulation, and Holistic Pelvic Care to help women reconnect to their body.

She teaches hands on techniques to align and mobilize the pelvis and pelvic floor to address blockages, dysfunctions and imbalances.
